Group User Information not updating

When I updated to the new version of exponent, I went through the user access to make sure everything was correct. Removed old users access, that kind of thing. I also made sure the current users belonged to the group account for access to the site. The group user settings were off for the pages but the users were still part of the group. I set each of the pages to be part of the group again. However, when I log in as a regular user (i.e. non-administrator), I cannot see the tab pages. All that is showing is the home page. When I log in as administrator, everything is there. Am I missing a step for my users to be able to see the pages?

    Thank you for the information. I will try that. I cannot apply the patch because it tends to crash my site. Not sure why this is happening. When I apply the patch, all I get are links - no web pages. It's very weird so I haven't applied it yet.

    Later that same day...
    I have tried the above but it does not change anything. Am I supposed to set it so that the whole website is open to "World - Read only" because I definitely do not want that.

    So there are two problems - one is the tabs not showing and two is the patch not updating properly.

    Also, I tried the settings for the defaults you suggested (The defaults of File = World readable/writable and Directory = Group readable/writeable) but it did not work

    I really already answered those questions. I don't know where they went???

    I wrote, In answer to your questions:
    1. What version of Exponent are you running?
    Exponent version 2.1.0, Release date November 23, 2012, PHP version 5.2.17

    1. How are you attempting to 'apply' the patch? Install Extension with the 'patch' checked?
      I upload it to my host. I didn't know there was an install extension. Where do I find that? There was one for the version 2.1.0 so this was easy to install but not the patch.

    2. The default file and directory permissions only applies when uploading files (install extensions) or making new directories. The defaults of File = World readable/writable and Directory = Group readable/writeable usually seem to work in most cases.
      I tried this but it does the same thing.

    3. Lastly, when you say the 'tabs are not showing', are you referring to the site menu of pages?
      Yes, this is what I mean.
