Feature request - Merge Flowplayer & Youtube modules into Mediaplayer w/ mediaelement
Reported by dleffler | March 2nd, 2013 @ 08:52 PM | in 2.2.3 (closed)
Since it looks like we'll have to go with mediaelement.js to fully support html5 audio/video across different browsers, we might as well take advantage of all its features which would make it easy to merge flowplayer & youtube modules into a new mediaplayer module

This will deprecate the flowplayer & youtube modules, but we will most likely still ship them with v2.2.0.
Will need to implement an upgrade script and migration script, though it may be difficult to convert youtube embed code to a simple youtube link used by mediaelement.js

Note to self, autoplay is passed in the audio/video tag, but seems to affect all the players on the page, in so much as having two autoplay elements starts all the players, then immediately stops them all?
Probably want a 'playlist' type view

Still requires a migration script, but NOT essential for the alpha release as you can migrate (to flowplayer/youtube), then run an upgrade.
Have a test 'playlist' view somewhat working locally, but it doesn't operate consistently between browsers.

No longer an 'alpha' priority

We also may want to update the youtube video support in the help module? This would also give us generic audio/video.
