Question: should external calendar events be republlshed in ical publish or send reminders?
Reported by dleffler | October 16th, 2012 @ 06:36 PM | in 2.1.2 (closed)
Now that we pull in calendar events from external sources to display on an exponent calendar, the question arises 'do we republish these external events?". This should NOT be confused with aggregated exponent calendars.
This would also include e-Commerce type event registration 'events'.
My current thinking is that since we are pulling them in, we should NOT aggregate them into our ical publish feed, NOR our send reminders method. However, it's not too difficult to do so...though we'd probably need to develop a user config setting to make it optional.

- Title changed from Question: should external calendar events be used in ical publish or send reminders? to Question: should external calendar events be republlshed in ical publish or send reminders?
So the output would be:
- ical feeds
- send reminders
And the input is from:
- external Google calendars
- external iCal calendars
- event registrations (global in nature)

It seems that events external to exp, should be handled by the external application/site. We will display them in our calendars optionally.
