Bug: FIle uploads set to 000 permission

Dear all,

I have recently started using your new release of your software, I love all the things I can do, however there seems to be a big bug that does not allow me to continue and put it on line.

It has to do with the File manager, whatever I upload including images it does not work, every image I upload is shows that it is not an image (small jpg) it is uploading I can see the content in the directory however the file manager does not let me do anything with the pictures, video or documents. It does not recognize plain pictures or images.

I would love to use it and promote your hard work and even support it however this issue with your new I think is yahoo file manager is getting in the way.

Please advice, thank you in advance for your response I hope you can get this to work. I tried removing the installation several times, I moved to a different server and even try Bluehost with no luck.

    Thank you so much for your quick response, I am curious about your answer, In response to your question I can assure you that I have not done anything unusual during any of the last 5 installations in different servers as I mentioned even Bluehost which is usually very good about resolving any issues concerning installations considering the business relationship we maintain.

    What I am doing is going through the wizard installation without any glitches, smooth as it can be, login as the Administrator setup during the installation, open the file manager try to upload a picture, image, document or a wav file and the file manager does not recognize any of the files been uploaded into the files subdirectory.

    I noticed that all the file that I upload show up in the subdirectory (files) where I can see the file you have as part of the welcome screen in the main page EXBOX>JPG with security setup as 0644 however any file that I upload shows with security as 0000. I am not sure if this is related however your file manager does not recognize the mine extensions included in your code.

    For your information I tried this process of uploading files on every installation right after coming out of the wizard.
    Bluehost did some research and they assure me that the problem in on the TPL's and they are not ready to support or assist until the code is stable.

    Please investigate I am more than willing to assist in any way I can.

    By the way we have tried the uploads from different computers with different IE versions.

    The File I downloaded from your site is exponentcms-exponent-cms-v2.0.3-0-ge634bc0.tar.gz

    This is the version is on your site as stable and the one I have been installing for our testing hoping to build our site around your very nice code.

    Team, thank you for your response, you know the code well enough, your solution above deleting commenting out these lines did part of the trick. As I continue the testing I discover a similar problem in other modules such the Portfolio Modules, when you add a picture it does not show.

    I tried to follow the code and it seems you are using thumbs.php and the pictures were located in the framework subdirectory. I tried changing the security for these images but that did not made difference this time. In addition some of the icons in configuration pages are not showing, a good example is when you go to Manage User Profile Extensions the icons don't show therefor it is makes it impossible to know what you are modifying in this section, I can't tell the status of the changes I am making in some pages due to the fact that the icons are marked with X.

    I am a CIO with a doctorate in computer studies working on very large projects for my employer ACCENTURE, I manage development, architecture, security and deployment worldwide. I can assist someunfortunatelyelly I am working on SQL/Oracle Siebel java development and I am not up to speed in open source. However I can figure out some things just by using common sense.

    Please let me know if this is a problem that can be resolved without taking too much of your time, as you guys mentioned you are very busy with this project.

    Dear all,

    I havsuccessfullyly installed the new release, keep loving it more and more. I still had to make some changes to the config file due to the issues with the file manager. I am having a challenge in this new release, when I log in as an administrator the system does not allow me to log out to check the changes I made in the security groups, permissions etc. What ever I try when I comeback to the site still show me logged in as an administrator.

    So how you guys test the code if we can not log out as administrator is there a trick or a bug?

    Thank you for your great work, I have tried logging out several ways, the first is the obvious as any other program from the home page log out, the other trough the fly out. The issue with the file manager was corrected once I deleted the lines you suggested in the config.php no error was given however I work around the issue by deleting the lines from the config.php.

    The only way I was able to logout is by cutting all connections but now I am not able to see the admin top menus, I am able to log back in as Admin but I am not able to use the admin consiole functions anymore. I hope that makes sense.

    No Problem

    PHP is PHP 5.2.17
    We tried Apache and ISS
    The OS I am not sure we are testing on Bluehost
    My server is Server Windows 2008
    We are using Browser 8 and 9
