Reported by theohiobloke | November 4th, 2011 @ 03:00 AM | in 2.0.3 (closed)
I have two sites now that report that admin privs (administrator checked in user screen) disappear mysteriously. this happened most recently while user was creating new users on the system.

- Assigned user cleared.
- Tag set to admin, users
So to confirm, this was NOT a super-admin and this occurred on their own user account while logged in and editing another user account?

Yes this was an admin user (not super admin) who was editing/adding new accounts for teachers at his school. Sometime during the session he lost his admin privileges.
I had another user in a similar situation (admin not super admin) who lost admin capabilities.

I have another admin who lost admin privs he was doing a bunch of different tasks including creating/editing users.
He logged off and when logged back in was no longer an admin. -

I'll take a look later this morning, I ran into an issue already fixed in the develop branch where we had confused the 'global' (logged in) user object, with the 'current' (record) user object...in most cases it's the same except when editing another user.

That site (from today) is now using develop code as of this morning. Was using last stable release patched for the IE upload problem.

(from [a36c36d33b720c1f8396c95becb50cba75044653]) Temp (possible permanent) fix to losing admin status when a regular admin (not super-admin) saves a user record, including updating their own profile/password [#391 owner:dleffler] https://github.com/exponentcms/exponent-cms/commit/a36c36d33b720c1f...
