Database is currently Off-line
Reported by Andres Urrea | June 18th, 2014 @ 01:49 PM
Hello
Today my site displays this message:
This site is currently down for maintenance.
Database is currently off-line!
I checked the config.php file with the values of the database and are fine. If I try to run the installation again the system did not recognize any of the tables that have the database and tries to make a completely new installation.
What can i do to restore my website?

There is a hack being used to shut sites down. The Fix (for v2.3.0) is found in patch #3 released a few days ago. http://sourceforge.net/projects/exponentcms/files/exponent-2.3.0-pa.... The fix for other versions is to remove/rename the /install folder.
Most likely, the settings in /framework/conf/config.php were changed due to this hack, and now points to a non-existent database. You can edit that file and enter the database server, database name, database user, and database password...then your site should come back up online.
If possible, you will want to check the Exponent mysql database to ensure the tables are still populated (exponent_section)
