Feature request - Add an 'alternative' control

We need a composite control which would allow 'one set of settings or another'. E.g., in the media player you can EITHER enter a youtube url OR attach a video/splash image, but not both (currently a non-empty youtube url takes priority).
We have some other instances where this is also the case.
Not sure if this could be be accomplished with radio buttons or tabs (aka image/swatch in edit product) and assoc javascript.
