Bug: new standardized 'form control ids' may have broken some javascript in develop branch

Since moving to a standardized filter for creating/checking form control id's, we may have broken some javascript which relied on a form control id created by one of the MANY old custom algorithms. E.g., {rating} smarty function.
This only applies to the develop branch due to a recent update. We DO want to keep the standard form control id function intact though.
