Feature request - Consider adding adaptive images

There is a php library which attempts to only send images no larger than the size of the display requesting the page, which is called adaptive images adaptive-images.com

This does NOT replace phpThumb which is used to scale images and create icons, but limits the max size of images passed to the requesting client. It caches the smaller images it creats and is handled at the web server .htaccess level.
